At Mystery Soup Escape Rooms, our mission is to deliver memorable immersive experiences that bring people together through the thrill of exploration, teamwork, and problem-solving. We strive to provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that each visit leaves our guests inspired, engaged, and eager to return.

Their story began in the most unexpected of places: a pirate-themed escape room. They met while handcuffed together as strangers, part of a local meet-up group. What started as a shared challenge turned into a lifelong partnership, fueled by a passion for adventure and puzzle-solving.

Fast forward a year, Tina became a co-owner of an escape room business in Florida, with Curt managing operations. They learned a lot about the business side of escape rooms during that time. After selling the business, they embarked on an eight-month adventure across North America, playing over 280 escape rooms to fuel their inspiration and deepen their knowledge of the industry.

Upon their return to Florida, they searched for the perfect location to start their next escape room venture. However, roadblocks made the search challenging, leading them to expand their horizons. Their journey brought them to Rhode Island, where they  purchased Lock and Clue, an existing escape room business. Now reimagined as Mystery Soup Escape Rooms, Curt and Tina have big plans to make the existing games even more immersive and entertaining, as well as designing and building new games.

WHY THE NAME “MYSTERY SOUP”?

Before embarking on their RV adventure, Curt and Tina knew they wanted to open an escape room. Step one: find the perfect name.

They didn’t want the usual “Escape This” or “Escape That.” They wanted something unique, something that captured the essence of their vision: a dash of mystery, a sprinkle of whimsy, and a heaping scoop of fun.

With this recipe in mind, they brainstormed names until one idea simmered to the top…Mystery Soup Escape Rooms.

Lock and Clue Escape Rooms began its journey in 2016, setting up shop in the charming and historic Hope Artiste Village. This unique location, a former mill that has since become a vibrant mixed-use building, is home to a variety of shops, offices, and apartments. The character and warmth of the building provided the perfect backdrop for the creative experiences that would come to define Lock and Clue.

At the heart of Lock and Clue’s success was Jason Siner, co-owner and the mastermind behind every intricately designed room. Jason’s boundless creativity, dedication, and talent for crafting immersive adventures allowed Lock and Clue to not only survive but thrive during even the toughest times, including the COVID-19 pandemic—a period that many businesses, especially escape rooms, struggled to overcome. His resilience and passion left an indelible mark on the escape room community.

Space Pirates was Jason’s final creation for Lock and Clue. Though the room had been designed and built, it didn’t officially open until Curt and Tina took ownership in October 2024. About a month and a half after stepping into this role, they rebranded the business as Mystery Soup Escape Rooms, excited to carry on Jason’s legacy while also bringing their own vision to life.

Curt and Tina are incredibly grateful to be part of such a storied and resilient escape room legacy in the heart of Hope Artiste Village.
